Description

This film consists of a wide variety of short scenes and we see various people, places and events. The film opens with scenes from an informal game of cricket. We see a group visit to Knaresborough Castle, we also see the group in rowing boats on the river. There is a display of folk dancing and we see a choir performing outdoors. There are scenes from Buxton, the title for these scenes is 'I.S.D.C Trip to Buxton Aug 15th 1948'. There are then scenes from Liverpool titled 'Mrs Entwistle sails for America - Liverpool April 1950'. These scenes includes shots of the Britannia in dock and shots of the Liverpool docks area. There are scenes from New Brighton, Blackpool, Happy Mount Park in Morecambe and Heysham Head. We see informal games of tennis, a child making sandcastles and then there are scenes from an outdoor pool. A show is taking place there, there is a comedy diving act and a 'Bathing Beauty Contest'. The women wear a wide variety of styles of bathing costume for the competition. The film ends with scenes from an indoor ice show.
