A promotional film from Hilden Mill in Oswaldtwistle, this is a film made to demonstrate the wide range of textiles made at the mill, the high quality of the textiles and the efficiency with which the mill operates. We are shown the wide range of uses of the textiles, and we are told about their many different types of customers including the hospitality industry, airlines, hospitals and department stores. Their customers include some well known brands. We also learn about the extensive customer service and aftercare the mill provides. Inside the mill we see the stages involved in the production of the cloth from beginning to finished product, and how the production is more efficient thanks to new technology such as computers and fax machines. We see people at work in different settings in the mill including the offices and laboratories.
