Description |
Local newsreel events - include the opening of the New Mersey Square Bridge extension at Stockport. The Mayor Alderman John Coupe addresses a large crowd. Mr Joshua Preston attends a tree planting ceremony at Bramhall St. Michael and All Angels Church, to celebrate the Silver Jubilee. Further footage includes Remembrance Day in Stockport on November 11th 1935 and the opening of the new outdoor swimming baths at Woodbank Park on June 1st 1935. Crowds of spectators sit around the pool and watch a group of girls perform a synchronized swimming display. |
