Description

Footage of the Brickhill family at the elder Brickhills home, Bewdley in Alderly Edge, as well as their home in Cheshire, and scenes of Pownall School Sports Day, 1945. The film begins with scenes of young David and his grandparents in their garden with their pet Jack Russell. This is followed by brief shots of goat kids in a stall on a farm then David racing his mother in the garden and getting a piggyback ride from his father. At Pownall School we see various races - including an obstacle and three-legged - then the awarding of the Sports Day prizes and trophies. More Sports day events are shown - including the sack race and the fathers tug-o-war - intercut with shots of David playing in the garden with a bulldog puppy.
