Description |
The Dempsey family travel to London to attend the Festival of Britain. John and Edwin later write in their diary about their holiday to London. The film cuts between the boys' diary entries and shots of the holiday. We see the family at the Festival of Britain looking at the exhibits. We later see them at the Festival Pleasure Gardens where they ride on a miniature railway and on fairground rides. There are shots of London including scenes of busy streets and traffic around Trafalgar Square where the family feed the pigeons. They visit London Zoo and Windsor Castle and take a boat ride on the Thames. We also see them on a boat near Windsor Castle. Finally we see the family packing their suitcases ready to go home. The next scenes are titled 'Sculptor Craft' We see John and Edwin at home making plaster models from a craft kit. They pour the plaster of paris into moulds then put them in front of the fire to set. They then paint them before presenting them to their mother who places them on the mantelpiece. |
