Description |
The mayor, Mr Joshua Preston, attends St. Julien Anniversary parade through the streets of Stockport in 1930. Onlookers crowd into the town square to watch the procession of soldiers, war veterans, civic dignitaries and brass bands. The second half of the film features a Stockport children's outing to Redesmere. They travel from Stockport in a convoy of North Western buses. At Redesmere the children play in the open fields. The bus drivers are filmed standing in a group next to their vehicles and the mayor is seen wiping the face of a little girl with his handkerchief. Includes nice shots of the children jostling in front of the camera to get into the picture. |
