Description |
The film begins with various sporting activities - sprinting, high jump, tug of war, javelin, golf and tennis; shots of Bolton Town Hall clock. Different war memorials are visited - inscriptions are seen to the 'Loyal North Lancashire', the men of the Bolton Artillery; the men of Egerton, Eagley, Dunscar and Bromley Cross, and the Lancashire Fusiliers. Carnival Day celebrations at the British Legion Astley Bridge branch - a fancy dress parade; children's' ballet display; the crowning of the carnival queen, Miss Irene Holden, by the president JL Gratrix; a procession of civilians wearing medals and carrying flags. |
