Description

The bride and groom (Judith and Richard) stand outside St Andrews Parish Church in Cleveleys and have photographs taken. In December 1974 the Lord Bishop of Lancaster came to dedicate the Whiteside memorial window in St Andrews Church. Crowds of people arrive at the church for the special service. This was the last visit of the Lord bishop before his retirement at the end of the year. He agrees to have his photograph taken with Vicar Morgan for the church records. Members of the congregation attend the consecration of the new Bishop of Lancaster Dennis Page. The service took place at Blackburn Cathedral on March 1st 1975. Back at St Andrews Parish Church, members of youth organisations and children of the Sunday school attend the Mothering Sunday service with their mothers. A christening also takes place at the church that day. In the next scene we see young members of the church join the clergy for breakfast after the Easter communion service. In May, members of the Ladies Guild can be seen waiting for the coach to arrive for their day trip to Harrowgate and Harewood House. The film ends with members of the Venture scouts washing cars to raise money for charity.
