Description

An evening cultural programme following the Black History and Activism meeting which took place at the Asian Community Centre/Tipul Sultan Centre in Longsight, Manchester. People congregating to have food and socialise with Asian music playing in the background. The crowd includes many activists from the black community at that time - Kabir Sheikh, Gus John and many others. Josna Pankhania gives a brief commentary on a display of photos of an Asian Girls' outing to the Lake District, and the importance of events like this for them. From 6 minutes in, a wide range of different groups perform traditional and non-traditional Asian music.
