Description

A film made for Knowsley Borough council showing the positive aspects to life in the area presented by Brian Redhead. The locations include Knowsley Hall, Liverpool Docks, Kirkby Sports Centre, Huyton shopping precinct, Knowsley Safari Park and Prescot street scenes.

Presenter Brian Redhead takes a look at the Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley in Merseyside in this promotional film advertising the commercial and general attractions of the area. Beginning with Knowsley Hall, the historic home of the Earls of Derby, we visit a wide range of locations including Knowsley Safari Park, Kirkby Sports Centre, Liverpool Docks, Huyton, Prescot, and see the traditional craft of horseshoeing at Crompton Smithy. Local nightlife is represented with a floor show at Kirkby Suite, and the film also shows the easy transport links for leisure purposes to the Lake District, Southport and Snowdonia.
