Description |
Scenes from Bollington Carnival 1981. The parade takes place on a wet day. We see people marching in fancy dress, floats and carnival queens and princesses. There is a Scottish Piper Band, and floats representing various local organisations such as the Spinners Arms and the Royal Oak Cricket Club. On the carnival field a ceremony takes place. Carnival queens and princesses from nearby towns curtsy to the Bollington Carnival Queen and Princess before they are crowned. We see morris dancers and other dance troupes, and people stand around eating and drinking. |
