Description

An large anti-deportation march of about 500 people, led by Viraj Mendis (fighting deportation to Sri Lanka). Also music and bands. Demonstrators moving through Manchester streets towards Piccadilly Gardens and then onto Albert Square where they congregate on the steps of Manchester Town Hall. Nilofer Shaikh on megaphone. Everyone moves into the Town Hall where there is a rally. First speaker talks about racist and sexist laws and their history and then many different people under threat of deportation talk about their cases.
