Description |
A film all about Marple, we see the various interesting and historic buildings in the town and some of the events that took place there in the early 1950s. There are titles before we are shown each building and event that tell us what we are about to see. The places we see include a children's hospital with patients on the ward, and in the open air while still in their beds. We also see the opening of the local cricket club by Sir James Myers. We see a parade in celebration of the Festival of Britain on May 12th 1951 and a Pageant Day on June 23rd 1951. There is a parade to celebrate the Coronation and another for the local Rose Queen in 1953. There are also Marple street scenes filmed on Market Street and Stockport Road. |
