County Councillor Ernest Johnson welcomes guests to a reception at County Hall the evening before the unveiling of the plaque. Bill Alexander responds on behalf of the IBers and talks about the reason they went to Spain - not as romantic idealists but for a fight against fascism. Bernard Clarke - Leader of the County Council - speaks.
Audience shots and Eddie Frow speaking to other IBers against the backdrop of the IBers banner about the importance of the event in context of current unemployment and economic difficulties. Shots of IBer's singing their old war songs and a Balalaika performance.
