Description |
The film opens with brief scenes of the Facit St. John's and Millgate Baptist combined Whit Walk and then we see a trip to Lanehead. There are countryside views, and rivers, streams and waterfalls. Children play in a playground and there are scenes of children paddling and swimming in Wham Dam. Families sunbathe by the side of the water. There follow scenes from Broadley. We see Birch Villas being sandblasted by a company called Blastclean Co., and later a woman clears the sand from her windowsill. The last ever train from Broadley to Bacup leaves the station packed with people. We then see a brief shot of the front page of a newspaper, there is a photo of a road with terraced housing, and then we see a shot of the street to which the article relates. |
