Description

A procession of various military and civil defence groups, including auxiliary firemen, nurses and ARP wardens, march past the mayor and other dignitaries on the banks of the Ship Canal. Horse racing scenes (location unknown) are followed by air-raid practice at Lancashire Steel Corporation's Irlam works, as well as fire fighting and first aid training and a demonstration of how to deal with a gas attack.
