Description

Film commemorating the Holy Infant's School football achievements, in Bolton between 1949-50. Junior and senior schoolboy teams are seen practicing outside on a muddy pitch. Mr Lomax, the games teacher, discusses tactics and poses with the team for a group photograph. The second half of the film features scenes from a football match held at Burnden Park Stadium on the 5th April 1952. The Holy Infant's senior team win the George Fell cup, by beating Sunning Hill 3 : 2. Jimmy Ginty scores the winning goal ten minutes before the end of the match. Includes interior shots of Bolton Wanderers dressing room, where Councillor George Fell presents the trophy to the winning team.
