Description

Various events attended by Joshua Preston in his mayoral capacity in 1929. Includes footage of a scout procession on April 21st and a jamboree at Arrowe Park in Birkenhead - Sir Robert Baden Powell takes the 'Grand Howl' with four thousand cubs. A troop of French scouts arrive in Stockport on the 7th August - several of the uniformed boys are seen boarding a tram. Further footage includes shots of Stockport British Legion's Drumhead Service in Vernon Park and the opening of the Lawrence Street steps in Stockport on August 9th.
