Description

Paul Okojie interviews Mrs Audrey Walsh, a Magistrate member of Greater Manchester Police Authority. She sits on the Stockport bench. She speaks about the political nature of the process which she is critical about. Feels they should be pulling together rather than pulling apart. She also speaks about pre-meetings and the necessity for them. She discusses the role of Magistrates and the attempts to remove them from the committee and about the five or six sub-committees (such as the general and finance committee) and the many different people - accountants, architects, builders - involved in these processes.
