Description

Celebrating the Queen's coronation in 1953 the village of Frizington is bedecked in red, white and blue bunting and Union Jack flags. There is a parade with floats, fancy dress, marching brass bands and the crowning of the Coronation Queen. A group of pensioners get off a coach and pose for the camera while three young girls in historical costumes curtsy. Winter scenes with snowball fights and children shovelling the snow from the pavements.
