Description |
King George VI and Queen Elizabeth visit Burnley on 8th March 1945. Guests and dignitaries line up on a decorated stage constructed outside Manchester Road train station as they await the royal party. The royal train pulls into the station and the King and Queen emerge onto the decorated stage where they are introduced to a variety of guests including Sam Hanna's father, James. The King and Queen sit down and sign a book before leaving in the royal car, waving to the crowds. The film ends with shots of the crowd and a Union Jack flying above the town hall. |
