Description |
A video documenting the last days of the LCT and its subsidiary Lonsdale Coaches prior to takeover by Stagecoach. Based around everyday scenes of a bus company, it features the General Manager Thomas Knowles giving a detailed history of LCT and its fleet. Views of an open day with vintage and open-topped buses. Interviews by Kim Campbell with staff: Dougie Shaw - a driver and Kristine a woman driver, and Chris Chinnery - chief driving instructor. Comprehensive footage of depot activities; mechanics inspecting and repairing buses and washing down; office scenes including enquiries and management meetings. We see drivers in the rest room and playing snooker. A driver takes his bus out. We see buses in locations around Lancaster, Heysham, Morecambe, Carnforth and Preston on roads and on the motorway. We see picking up and dropping passengers. Good views of bus interiors and operation, including a drivers-eye-view of a complete route around Lancaster town centre, a destination sign scrolling, and the last bus into the depot on the final day of operation. |
