Description |
Film showing the work of Fred Wright, of Peter Stubs Limited in Warrington, cutting a metal file using various hand tools. Mr Wright was one of the last craftsmen capable of demonstrating this process. The film shows Mr Wright cutting the teeth of a file using a hammer and chisel, with the file resting on a lead 'cutting bed' and held in position by leather straps that are controlled by Mr Wright's feet via the use of stirrups. The film ends with the completed file being shown to the camera. |
