Description

Follows the work of Dick Eastwood, from Grassington in Yorkshire, as he makes a besom (broom) using traditional tools and materials. After shots of Mr Eastwood bringing ling (heather) back from the moors, the film cuts to the outside of his cottage where he puts the ling in a knee vice. He uses thin strips of ash to bind the ling. After the broom head is trimmed, a passer by is seen admiring the work. Mr Eastwood attaches the broom handle and the film ends as he puts the besom to use by sweeping his front path.
