Miscellaneous footage shot by Mr Ralph Brookes, a newsagent from Ordsall in Salford - scenes of a day trip to Sheffield include travelling shots of the train journey taken through the carriage window; high angle shots of shoppers and pedestrians walking along the pavement; various streetscenes and close up shots of sausages, hams and pigs trotters on display in a butcher's window. The film also includes scenes of people sitting on benches in Piccadilly Gardens; stall holders and shoppers at Cross Lane Market in Salford and various animals in their compounds at Belle Vue Zoo. Also features three weddings; local children playing on the swings and roundabouts in Ordsall Park and a shot of a man selling ice creams from the back of a horse-drawn cart in the middle of a terraced street. |
