Description |
Interior shots of Stockport Infirmary. Includes footage of the new Sykes Ward opened in 1932. A doctor uses a portable x-ray plant on a male patient in the ward. Scenes of the Violet Ray Department shows a group of children, wearing goggles, receiving 'Sunlight Treatment'. A nurse is seen applying a plaster cast to a girl's wrist and a young child receives physiotherapy. The film also features behind-the-scenes shots of the hospital laundry room and kitchens. Concludes with shots of the egg collection service in operation around Stockport and district schools, which was set up in aid of the infirmary. Children are seen carrying crates of eggs from their classrooms. |
