Description |
A co-production, funded by the EU, between five film-making groups in Belgium, Italy, Germany, France and Britain, celebrating the 100th anniversary of International May Day by reflecting, analysing and expressing past and present struggles in each of the five countries through a series of five chapters. Part 2 includes the contributions from France, 'Histoires de classe,' which recounts the experiences of mechanic apprentices in a machine workshop in the context of the the changing nature of the industry; Germany, 'Nachtschicht fur Deutschland,' about the Opel car factory and its workers; and Italy, 'Al Sud Del Sud,' about internal (between the north and south) and external (primarily Africa) migration in the country. A montage by the veteran Belgian film-maker Paul Meyer introduces, links and concludes the five autonomous programmes. |
