Description |
Film of the commencement of the Farington Link Road by Faircloughs on behalf of the Central Lancashire Development Corporation (now known as English Partnerships). Sir Frank Pearson, Chairman of the Central Lancashire Development Corporation is seen delivering a speech to a small crowd, including members of the press. A British Leyland spokesman also makes a speech, the road will benefit them. Aerial footage of the Leyland Motors plant is seen during part of the speech. The British Leyland representative commences construction by operating a menchanical digger. |
