Description

A Whitsuntide walk with religious banners, brass bands, children with their mothers, boys' brigade, scouts and guides. Groups of cub scouts march to a park and then gather at a bus station and load their kit onto the bus. A funfair in a park with the crowning of Miss Saddleworth carnival queen followed by a fancy dress parade, majorettes dancing and marching brass bands. Still at the carnival we see a fencing demonstration, a Scottish pipe band, model aeroplanes, three legged cricket and sedan chair races in a shallow river. The Saddleworth carnival parade with decorated floats, marching bands and morris dancers. At the carnival showground on a school playing field we have a police motorbike display team and parachutists landing.
