Description

Compilation reel of various local events - includes May Day celebrations in Stockport in 1929. The Mayor attends the London Midland and Scottish Railway Horses Parade, where he presents certificates and rosettes to the winners. Miss M.G. Preston, Mayoress of Stockport, crowns the May Queen, Miss Phyllis Wilson, at Reddish. Further footage includes the Stockport County v Barrow football match and the Reddish Friendly Societies Parade which was held on July 21st 1929.
