Description

Leach family scenes focusing on their daughters, Emily and Rachel. We begin with scenes from the summer of 2004, where we see the girls at a Sea Life Centre, looking at stingrays and sea lions. We then see the family having a ride on a miniature railway. This is followed by scenes from Whitby. The family play on the beach, visit Whitby Abbey and walk along the pier. We also see them at their campsite where Rachel and her mum play a ball game. Back at home the girls play in the garden, sliding down a toy slide into their paddling pool. In November there is small family gathering for Dad's birthday, they have a cake and then fireworks in the back garden. The next day we see the girls playing in the living room. We then have Christmas scenes in December. We see two nativity plays, one featuring Rachel and the second featuring Emily. The family then take a ride on the East Lancashire Railway Santa Train. We see the family on the train where there is entertainment and Santa hands out gifts to the children. On Christmas Eve the girls hang up their stockings, leave a carrot for Rudolph and a mince pie for Santa. They also sprinkle glitter on the doorstep to help guide Rudolph in. On Christmas day the girls open their presents. In early January we see a small family gathering for Emily's birthday, followed by a children's party at a soft play centre.
