Description |
A 'Landsgemeinde' (outdoor assembly or parliament) for the local swiss community held at Hardcastle Crags, Hebden Bridge in 1952. People are shown walking in the woods and hills, enjoying a picnic, crossing stepping stones in the rain and visiting a house. They gather on the slope of a hill to for an address by Professor Jean Inebnit, presentations and singing. The film concludes with a second landsgemeinde and picnic at the same venue (c1969), with banners in the high street welcoming them to Hebden Bridge. |
