Description |
A compilation reel, with family scenes in Halgolla, followed by a plantation staff party. On 7th January 1957, a British woman - Elizabeth, and her family, depart by ocean liner. Scenes of the filming of 'The Bridge over the River Kwai', shot in February-March 1957; the film crew and actor William Holden set up and rehearse shots. The reel continues with scenes of a traditional Sri Lankan performance with dancers in traditional costume, general scenes in the countryside, and ends with shots of wild flowers. |
