Description

Footage of Stockport Carnival held on July 15th 1933. The street procession comprised of Morris Dancing troupes, jazz bands, decorated floats, mounted police and acrobats. Competitors wearing various fancy dress costumes are seen wet and bedraggled after a torrential downpour. Further footage also includes the crowning ceremony of the Carnival Queen, performed by Mrs. Gill, Mayoress of Stockport.
