Description |
Film featuring footage from various holidays taken by the Todkill family (?) in 1938. The first holiday was to Bournemouth and the New Forest and includes shots of Bournemouth beach, a paddle steamer and Beaulieu Abbey. The second is to Cornwall and features footage of St Ives and St Michaels Mount. The third holiday is to Blackpool. Includes shots of railway tracks and countryside shot from a train. Continues with footage of Blackpool Tower from its base, and views from the lift and summit. The beach and pier are featured as is the Pleasure Beach, North Pier Orchestra and Tower Roof Gardens. Reginald Dixon is seen playing the 'Wonder Organ' and a group of musicians playing the spoons and accordions feature. Cuts to shots of people in a garden before closing with colour footage from Blackpool. A Punch and Judy show, the pier, the beach and some gardens are all seen. |
