Description

Film about a Pakistani Muslim womens organisation in Manchester, called Al Masoom. Focuses on the work they have been doing on behalf of refugees in Bosnia and rape victims in Kashmir. They are seen packaging goods ready for transportation to refugee camps in Bosnia. Also the women march along Oxford Road, accompanied by Gerald Kaufman MP, before congregating in Albert Square to publicise the plight of women in Kashmir. Ends with footage of a meeting of women only, to celebrate the end of Ramadan. They can be seen dancing, singing and applying henna tattoos to their hands.
