Description

Scene from across Manchester City Centre: the Cathedral, Chetham School of Music, a wedding, the Town Hall, the Central Library seen from St. Peter's Square, Piccadilly Gardens in full bloom, Piccadilly Station Approach, the Old Shambles and Old Wellington Inn, and John Rylands Library. There are then scenes of Chester Morris Men dancing in Spinningfields, the Christmas lights on Deansgate, and shots of shop windows and interior displays in a department store (possibly Kendals). There is footage of a steam rally, a boating lake with ducks and geese, majorettes, the Poynton Jemmers (morris dancers) performing in King Street, and displays from mounted police, police dogs and pipe bands.
