Description

Scenes at the Radcliffe Charter Ball on 20 September 1935 are followed by views of the mayor and other civic dignitaries greeting Lord Derby the following morning. On arrival at the town hall, Lord Derby lays a wreath at the war memorial and inspects members of the Radcliffe British Legion. Following a luncheon held at the Central Senior Council School, a procession makes its way to Close Park, where Lord Derby plants a tree and presents the Mayor with the town's charter. Views of the commemorative stained glass window at the town hall are followed by scenes of the town's celebratory illuminations, bonfire and fireworks.
This film relates to NWFA 6050 - Charter Sunday, and NWFA 6051 - [Radcliffe Charter Lunch and Parade]
