Film produced to show the various ways in which the people of Ashton-Under-Lyne celebrated the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. It shows the town and streets being decorated, children being given souvenir mugs and medals, and preparations for the Mayor's procession. The Rose Queen is crowned on the steps of the Town Hall. The film finishes with newsreel footage from London and the Queen's procession to Buckingham Palace. |
