Description

Trims compilation reel from 'The Burnley School of Nursing' begins with shots of nurses and staff inside Reedley Hall, Burnley followed by out-of-focus footage of a prizegiving ceremony and exterior shots of Reedley Hall, Hartley Hospital in Colne and the Marsden Hospital in Burnley. Trainees learn how to use a thermometer with the aid of a dummy in a hospital bed. After shots of a children's ward, the film cuts to scenes outside the town hall as crowds welcome Burnley FC following their appearance in the 1962 cup final. Couples dance inside the Mecca ballroom, before there are shots of Towneley Park and the gallery in the Hall. The film ends with shots of a committee meeting.
