Description

Student documentary featuring a personal account of Liverpool with a running commentary, showing how the city has declined in the post-war era and how this has affected the local community. Begins with general views of the sun rising over the deserted dockland area and high angle shots panning across the city landmarks. Scenes include the rundown housing in the Kirkby and Dingle areas of the city, interviews with local residents as children play in the streets and are seen making a video production. Members of the Liverpool School of Language, Music, Dream and Pun explain the rise of local arts, community schemes and life beyond the popularity of The Beatles. Examples of artworks are seen on display and a group of musicians perform a song about biological washing powder. Ends with a shot of the Liver building.
