Description

Local events in and around Mawdesley in Lancashire - brief scenes from a local fete and a Royal visit are followed by views of the Mawdesley Whit Walk. Coronation celebrations for King George VI are seen, with children's sports days in Wrightington, Mawdesley and Hill Dale. There is a procession and fairground at Bispham Green, and an agricultural fair at Rufford. The ceremony for the cutting of the first sod for a new building in Mawdesley is seen, as well as scenes of the building's construction. Further scenes at Hill Dale sports day conclude.
