Description

Young men are taught life saving techniques at Gannow swimming baths in Burnley and a boy is saved from drowning in a staged rescue at the local canal. At the baths, the men work in pairs to demonstrate life saving manouevres both at the side of the pool and in the water as an instructor looks on. In a staged scenario, three boys play on a canal bank and one falls in. The other two boys run to get help - from a young man who rescues the boy from the water, and from the ambulance service who takes him away.
