Description |
Miscellaneous footage featuring a Whit Walk in Whitefield (?) - the 'queen' and her attendents are seen prior to footage of the Whit Walk. Banners, a band and various people on the walk are all featured. Continues with various shots of people in a garden, obviously aware of the camera. Cuts to a procession, many of the participants are in fancy dress (includes various national costumes), there are shots of a crowning ceremony. Following the title 'May 1937' is footage of celebrations marking the coronation of George . A large float mocked-up as a ship is seen, forming part of a procession. Closes with footage of Whitefield Civic Sunday in 1936, features a procession including police and a marching band. |
