Description

Scenes shot on Armistice Day in Stockport in 1928. A brass band plays on a gloomy day, followed in the procession by a troop of soldiers. Escorted by police, two officers carry a wreath. Joshua Preston, the mayor of Stockport, is seen climbing the town hall steps in full ceremonial dress, accompanied by other civic dignitaries. Another scene shows 'Mayor's Sunday' with a shot of a company of well-dressed men exiting the town hall.
