Description

Film detailing the end of steam train use at a paper mill in Heywood near Bury. The narrative of the film describes the last day on the job for Stan, a shunter on the small rail link between the two sites of a paper mill, narrated by the driver of the engine who will himself lose his job as the train service is to be discontinued. There is much detailed footage of the operation of the train, while the commentary laments the passing of steam and the demolition of Heywood's old houses.
