A family visit the park where they feed the ducks and swans. The mother pushes her daughter and son (Margaret and Bernard) on the swings. At the beach, Bernard and Margaret play in the sand. In the garden, the children chase a frog, Bernard plays with a bubble pipe while Margaret rides her scooter. In 1958 the family go on holiday to Devon. They stay at a caravan park and visit the beach where they swim in the sea and enjoy some ice cream. Back at home, the children take turns riding the scooter and even their mother has a go. The family go for a drive together before picking apples from a tree. Back at home, Margaret and Ben play with hula hoops.
