Description

A parade through the streets of Blackburn to the church to install the new mayor - he is seen on a platform watching the various bands go past. A group of clergymen are seen leaving Stonyhurst College near Clitheroe. Shots of a garden party at the Cleveleys Convent on July 1954 - which also featured the Religious Vocation Exhibition. Views from TV programme featuring St Alban's Church, Blackburn, followed by views of the exterior of the church covered in scaffolding. Bishop Beck lays the foundation stone for a new church on 24 April 1958 and Catholic Whit Walks in 1960 and 1961 are also seen, featuring members of Blackburn's Ukrainian community.
