Description

The second part of a meeting at the West Indian Sports and Social Centre, Longsight, Manchester in response to the tragic developments in Grenada - the killings of Prime Minister Maurice Bishop and three other ministers of the New Jewel Movement by people in their own party and the invasion by US troops. The meetings includes contributions from the floor with a very impassioned discussion about the events, as there are mixed views about the nature and intention of the US invasion. There are contributions from Elouise and Berry Edwards with calls for solidarity and a relief fund. Gus John concludes with a statement about Grenadans' right to determine their own future and destiny and the necessity for all foreign occupiers to leave.
