Description

Film depicting boats at work on the River Thames powered by Crossley engines. A journey down the river from Oxford shows various tugs, barges and leisure craft in action, and scenes in London include footage of the 1951 Festival of Britain and of Crossley-engined boats participating in a river pageant before Queen Elizabeth II. Other footage shows the timber wharves at Surrey Docks, customs houses and boats being launched onto the river.
